Belinda Sawyer


New Zealander Belinda Sawyer has almost 20 years of practical experience planning, organizing and leading expeditions. She specialises in behind-the-scenes operations but is equally conversant working as expedition leader, small boat operator and field guide. She holds ships master/engineer and scuba diving qualifications.

Belinda has led expedition teams throughout the world and for many years worked with Deep Ocean Expeditions and the Russian MIR submersible deep diving programme, undertaking expeditions to extreme depth sites such as undersea volcanoes and the wrecks of the RMS Titanic and German battleship Bismarck.

Her work has varied from remote location support for movie and documentary projects, government resupply operations, the superyacht industry, seismic data aquisition, implementing a New Zealand inshore fisheries management programme and passenger expedition cruising

 
Jane Wilson


Jane specialises in expedition management and environmental interpretation and was born and raised in Australia. She graduated from the University of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Science and then a Master of Environmental Studies.

Jane then worked for the Australian National Parks and Wildlife Services for the following 10 years, in research and logistical positions, until she was bitten by the Antarctic bug. For several years Jane worked in remote field camps in Antarctica on seabird ecology projects.

For the last 15 years Jane has worked on expedition cruise vessels as an expedition leader, zodiac driver and lecturer in many remote corners of the world, including South America, the Arctic and Antarctica, Europe, South-east Asia, the South Pacific, Australasia and Indian Ocean. She has also served as voyage leader for the Australian Antarctic Division.

Jane’s experience ranges from liaison with governments and port officials to negotiations with remote cultures over access and landing opportunities. She also works in implementation of environmental policy in sensitive areas to training in everything from zodiac handling to passenger relations.  Jane handles Blue Marble's operations from her base in British Columbia, Canada.

 


Our minimum fuss, “can do” style focuses on practical and efficient solutions to logistical challenges, always giving appropriate consideration to such things as the natural environment and cultural differences.
